Before I was 100% sure I was ace I did something somewhat drastic to have sex (it unvolved going to a very specific US State) because I heard sex was so great and wanted to see if it was something worth persuing but it's interesting how the narrative changes.

I know I'd still be Pan if I wasn't Pansexual, because I definitely know that I'm Panromantic, because when I described my attraction once, someone said that I was describing Panromantic, and that was because I was confusing romantic attraction to sexual attraction, or I wasn't describing sexual attraction because maybe deeply within me I feel uncomfortable with the idea of "it" but what confuses me is that I can feel sexual attraction, but it fluctuates to high and low, and I find it easier to feel comfortable with someone if I have an emotional bond, or like maybe I'm just shy about my sexual attractions... edit: I could go in deeper, and better described it, but I'd say I said alot already.

That's an interesting point about the misconception of asexuality being a form of "immaturity" or "Peter Pan Syndrome". Since I was about 13, I started crushing on celebs, fictional characters, and strangers, but not many of my classmates--platonic or aesthetic at best. No one has ever told me directly that I "need to grow up and have a "real" relationship instead of indulging in silly fantasies", but I just assumed that one day I would be attracted to someone in a way that would lead to marriage and family.--an effect of amatonormativity (read heteronormativity). But then I did some research about why I had different feelings and had such a difficult time "explaining myself" to people, and one day I realized, I'm...not made that way. I am 42 and I only realized I was aromantic about 2 years ago, and only recently learned I was Ace! I FINALLY found answers to questions I've had my whole life! Asexuality turns out to be just lack of sexual attraction to people, rather than a lack of desire for sex or sexual feelings. Libido is more of a biological thing than psychological, at least I think so, and can be triggered by different things. Once I went through the motions of pursuing romantic relationships to "conform to amatonormativity", I realized I am so much happier with the idea and fantasy of romance and sex than the reality of it. I learned that I'm not the only one who has these kinds of feelings! I'm proudly Aro/Ace and I've never been happier! :) Thanks for the video! :)

I started my transition ftm and then did the "if you are alone what is your gender?" And I was like "none?" That combined with my attachment to my feminine features changed my perspective 😮 I really recommend that exercise

i’m having trouble understanding “what” i am. i think i’d like to have sex/ do sexual things but every time i imagine it seriously i get uncomfortable? like i would want my partner to be sexually attracted to me because A. i’ve been socialized to equate sexual attraction to overall general attraction and B. i don’t know how to not want that if that makes sense? And if i imagine it with someone i love deeply in a truly romantic and intimate way i feel a lot better about it. idk man i mean i just get uncomfortable with the idea of having anything in me. i’m not sure how i’d react if a partner told me they were asexual. i don’t think sexual attraction is something that a relationship should be based on, but i think it’s one way to express love. either i have issues or i’m demisexual or both who knows, i certainly don’t anyone have any input/ advice ? 🙏🏻😭

I am on an asexual spectrum (demisexual) and I don't like sex education, I don't understand why everyone is so focused on the relationship drama there, like there are so many bigger problems in the world, and this is literally just school. It's obvious that 99% of these couples are gonna break and they all hope they are that 1 percent. What about after-school activities, friends, and interests? Even in my schools back in the day, I don't remember everyone being so horny. Children aren't even supposed to start sexual life before turning 18, and the situation in the series looks straight from the problematic neighborhood for the poor, which the school they show is far from. Or is it just America?

Allo people are annoying. Apparently you can't have squishes because that's still an attraction. It doesn't matter if it's platonic, queerplatonic or aesthetic attraction. It's still attraction. Also you're not allowed to have qprs because of the word relationship at the end. So apparently, I'm a poser and not really Aro.

Aceflux here. Mainly I flux between aegosexual (I know you didnt talk about it here), autosexual and demisexual, but I have experienced fraysexual once or twice, when I experiencing some sexual attraction I am pansexual/bisekual/mspec). I am also panromantic.

I am Aroace I enjoy Chinese online Romance novels- because of the censorship the smut is limited, which makes the novel more focus on platonic attraction and plot (the good ones does that and not to say all of it are enjoyable- depends on the writer). When it comes to western romance, i finds it a bit repetitive and boring when it comes to sex scenes. I am not repulse by it but it bores me so i will just flips through. Normally my comfort genre is detective mystery and fantasy (not romantasy)

Oh wow, this imposter syndrome you talk about is way different than I thought it would be! What's ironic is that, looking back on my dating experiences, the dates themselves felt fraudulent. In other words, it was as if I was inadvertently posing as straight when I was in fact Aro/Ace. Almost every date I'd ever been on felt like I was just going through the motions and not really into the person in that way, you know? During such dates and interactions it felt wrong, in my gut, as if I wasn't supposed to be doing it. Something seemed really off and it was so hard to explain for many years--I thought there was something fundamentally wrong with me that needed to be fixed. I just didn't know there was a name for what I'd been feeling most of my life! Amatonormativity blinded me from not only my own identity but the concept of aro/ace itself! Also, when I first discovered the concept of aromanticism, I had doubts about it since I did have attractions to people, but as it turns out, these attractions were mostly platonic and or aesthetic, with maybe one or two exceptions I guess. None of them were sexual now that I look back on it. That's when I knew for sure I was both aro and ace.

I recently got into a QPR and oh my gosh is it so much more comfy than I could ever imagine a relationship being. Thank you so much for the videos, they have helped me gain insights to my own identity and helped me explain my aroace experience to others (especially to my now partner because they also didn't think about their identity in this way before either haha). The videos have helped me gain a much better understanding of myself and consequently allowed for such a wonderful thing to grow, so I wanted to say thank you

Honestly, I'm kind of jealous of the ace flag because purple is my favorite color. But I like green too, so I guess it's OK. What I'm really upset about is that the aces claimed both cake and garlic bread. Are there any carbs that are uniquely associated with aros? I'm trying to focus on the important questions here.

I would add that the dating and kissing questions relate not only to the aro spectrum, but also to the split attraction model. Someone who is aro but not ace might do those things with someone they are potentially sexually attracted to, but without seeking a romantic aspect to the relationship.
